After playing for many years, Thomas officiated basketball for 12 years for high school and several collegiate conferences including USA South, Old Dominion Athletic Conference and Carolina's/Virginia's Athletic conference. He's also served as a rater (evaluator) for High School officials, coached several years at the Kernersville YMCA and is presently a member of the Titan's administrative board.




Justin McClendon

Justin McClendon, M.S. (VA Commonwealth University)

A native of Greensboro and a graduate of Northwest Guilford High School (where he played basketball Football and Cross-country), Justin attended Western Carolina University and Brunswick Junior College, before earning his bachelor's degree from UNC-Greensboro. Justin earned his Master's Degree in coaching and administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. He played basketball collegiately at Brunswick Junior College which is a member of the NJCAA Region X.

Justin has coached basketball for a number of clubs and schools, including the North Carolina Gators, Triad Titans, Rusty LaRue Basketball Academy, Turrentine Middle School, Greensboro College Men's Basketball, Virginia Commonwealth Men's Basketball, and has worked as an instructor at numerous college basketball camps. He also served as team manager for the Washington Wizards 2005 training camp.

Currently, Justin serves as the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Forsyth Country Day School. Throughout the year, Justin serves as the Assistant Director for the Rusty LaRue Basketball Academy Fall and Winter Leagues in addition to the annual RLBA Summer Pro-Am. Justin resides in Clemmons with his wife Lindsay and son Jordan.




Ted Mead

Chan, Rusty, and Ted formed the Titans in 2002.

Currently, Ted serves on the Triad Titans Board of Directors, is Titans General Manager, and drives his wife (Amy) crazy with all the Titan's web tools!

Ted played recreation and school ball growing up and has the following coaching experience:

  • Head Coach for the 2005/6 12u Triad Titans - USSSA Overall State Champions
  • Head Coach for the 2004/5 11u: Titans Team
  • Assistant Head Coach for the 2003/4 10:u Titans team
  • Assistant coach for the 2002/3 14:u Triad Titans
  • Assistant coach for the 2001/2 13:u Triad Titans with Chan LaRue (schooled by the very best:)! )
  • YBA coach for 10 plus years, coaching multiple age groups.

On a personal note, Ted is married with three kids (2 boys and a girl). His wife Amy did the development for the Triad Titan's website. He works for Cisco Systems, helps (ok... tries to help) his wife run the family web development business - (Ten Talents, LLC), and attends Grace Presbyterian Church.
