Triad Titans Players...

  • Will focus on team success ahead of individual performance.

  • Will arrive on time to practices and games. Each coach has his own guidelines, but generally players should arrive 15 minutes before practices and 1 hour before tournament games, dressed properly and ready to play. Missing practices may result in reduced playing time. Players should notify coaches in advance for any absences.

  • Will have a positive, “I can” attitude at all times. “Can’t” is not in a Titans’ vocabulary!

  • Will be attentive to the coaching staff at all times.

  • Will always treat their teammates and their coaches with respect.

  • Will be told by the coaches when to enter a game. During games, players are encouraged to let their coaches know when they are tired.

  • Will communicate with their teammates on the floor.

  • Will not wear hats, jewelry or talk on their cell phones during practices or games.

  • Will strive to achieve excellence in the classroom.

  • Will always remember that they are representing the Titans organization and the local community.

  • Understand that failure to comply with rules may result in less playing time or dismissal from team.

Triad Titans Coaches...

partly based on the AAU "The Coaches Creed"

  • Will strive to follow the highest ethical and moral standards in all personal contacts with players, parents, officials, media and the general public.

  • Will always put the highest ideals of character over winning.

  • Will always consider the personal safety of the athlete.

  • Will be thoroughly acquainted with pertinent AAU, USSSA, and YBOA rules and regulations, and will be responsible for their instruction to all Titans players.

  • Shall respect the game officials at all times. Public criticism of officials is unacceptable.

  • Will dress in business casual attire for all games (no sneakers, jeans, shorts).

  • Will respect their opponents, will display gracious behavior during competitions, and will require their players to conduct themselves in the same manner.

  • Will continue to emphasize skill development. While winning is very important we must first stress the fundamentals of basketball, which will produce victories!

  • Will do their best to make the experience fun for everyone – coaches, players and parents. Coaches will create a winning environment, which emphasizes teamwork, dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm.

  • Will be willing to work with local middle school and high school coaching staffs to develop relationships and to share player information.

  • We expect coaches to develop practice plans that offer an appropriate mix of skill development, plays, and scrimmages. Scrimmages are secondary to skill development and plays. We expect coaches to teach a base offense, defense, out-of-bounds, and special situation skill sets before any competitive games begin.

  • Will attempt to play all players - provided they follow team rules and expectations. While some players will play more minutes than others, everyone will contribute.

  • Will be great examples for the Triad Titans organization and the community!

  • Will be responsible for all team equipment (bags, scorebooks, balls, uniforms, medical kits, etc)

  • Will communicate with team administrators, asst. coaches, players, and Titans office

  • Will take “ownership” for practice times. While the Titan’s organization will provide practice times/locations, the coaches will ensure the time slots are used or will coordinate with other coaches to use the slot. Clean up after yourself!
